Spreading Christmas Cheer: Successful Food Drive in Ondo City

This Christmas, the spirit of giving was truly alive in Ondo City. God Made Mum Ondo, in its unwavering commitment to help the helpless and vulnerable, organised a successful food drive called "Feed the Future" to combat hunger during the holiday season.

A central component of the campaign was the Christmas Eve Community Feast, where children and families — many of them beneficiaries of the organisation — gathered to share meals and celebrate together. "The joy and gratitude in their eyes were the best Christmas gifts," said Praise Akinrinmade, founder.

The initiative received substantial community support, with the response described as "overwhelming" — hundreds of community members donating food items and volunteering their time to ensure every child in Ondo City could celebrate with dignity.

In the heart of Ondo City, a remarkable transformation is taking place. God Made Mum Ondo is making a significant difference in the lives of the most vulnerable. At the heart of our work is Akin — a 10-year-old who experienced homelessness before our organisation intervened.

Akin not only has a safe shelter and regular meals but is also attending school. He dreams of becoming a doctor and helping others facing similar circumstances. The organisation provides comprehensive support including shelter, food assistance, educational opportunities, clothing, and toiletries — enabling children like Akin to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

Your Donations in Action: What Your Generosity Provides

Every donation we receive is transformed into tangible change. £5 feeds a child for a week. £10 provides a full set of school supplies. £25 gives a new mother the essentials she needs to care for her newborn.

In November 2023, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we distributed over 200 food parcels to families across Ondo City — enough to sustain entire households through the month. See our programmes page for how your gift is put to work.

Back to School: Supplies for 80 Children in Ondo City

As the new school term began in September 2023, God Made Mum Ondo ensured that 80 children who might otherwise have stayed home had everything they needed to attend — school bags, notebooks, pens, uniforms, and more.

Education is the most powerful tool we have to break the cycle of poverty. By removing the financial barrier of school supplies, we help children stay in the classroom and build a future for themselves and their families.

A New Beginning: Supporting Vulnerable Mothers in Ondo

Our New Mother Support programme has now reached over 50 mothers across Ondo City, providing each one with cash support, baby essentials, and clothing. For many of these women, the arrival of a baby could have meant overwhelming financial hardship.

Instead, they received a welcome pack — and the message that their community stands with them. Every baby deserves to enter this world with warmth, care, and dignity.
